SOLD OUT! Answered Prayers and Protection

Friday is the Portland Good Friday Breakfast and things are hopping around the Open Arms Portland office. We have been praying for this event to grow and reach those who need to hear Nick’s story of hope. I admit that I often don’t recognize answered prayers in my life. God’s answer to our prayers for Good Friday are impossible to miss. We are sold out. Every seat we can fit into the Convention Center will be filled. Praise God! Thank you, Jesus, for hearing our prayers.

We have also experienced miraculous protection this week. Yesterday our neighbor came over in the afternoon and asked to use our Fax machine. She said their power had been out since 9am. They were huddled in their cold office working by natural light. I asked what happened to their power. She said the outage affected the area up the road and at least one nearby traffic light. I thanked God that he had covered the Open Arms and enabled our power to remain uninterrupted. A power failure would have put a major crimp in our Good Friday Breakfast preparations.

I need to be aware of all the answers to prayer and God’s grace in my life. I am thankful for the wonderful wakeup call.
