A hope and a future for two new little girls…

Last week our Founder Rachel was in Nairobi to source some furniture for our new children’s homes. Whilst she was rushing around the busy shops she received an amazing phone call.  It was from the District Children’s Office to say that two little girls, sisters aged 4 and 6, had been abandoned by their Mother and needed immediate care….would we take them?

How could we not take them? I would hate to think what would have happened to them if they had been allowed to roam the streets. Without us, these seriously vulnerable children would  be prime targets for child traffickers, abuse, malnutrition and chronic illness. Of course we jumped at the chance and took them in, the girls now have a home where they will be loved . They have been given a future, full of hope.

At the Open Arms Village we are building 8 children’s homes and a school providing a nurturing environment for children, orphaned through HIV/Aids. During 2010 the number of children that we care for will grow from 28 to 80, increasing to 160 children by 2015. We are committed to see each child through formal education or skills training and ensure that they will reach their full potential.

At this moment in time we are still completing the construction of home no. 4 and it is already occupied!

Number 5 Children’ Home is only half way built, we still need to secure the funds to complete the construction. We are urgently looking for $35,000 /£22,500 so that we can finish the home before the summer and take in another 16 children.

Thankfully God provided a new home for the little sisters; we know that He will also provide these funds as well. If you know of someone who is able to help, or if you would like to sponsor one of the girls, please give us a call.

We so love to hear from you!
