please pray for little J

We take health care so much for granted here in the west, but the ongoing situation for a little lad at the Open Arms Village is a reminder of the reality of life for so many.
Little J has been suffering with a chronic sinus infection for over a year now, despite several courses of antibiotics, and the past month has seen him in hospital, spiking very severe temperatures, and struggling to fight whatever is making him so ill.
The doctors are at a loss to know how best to treat him, and are groping in the dark for solutions.
Because little J is one of our children at the Village, he has people standing up for him and pushing for medical care, and finding the means to pay the bills, but if this had happened 18 months ago, or to a child living in a situation where medical care cannot be paid for, then the outcome would probably be very different.
As it is little J is fighting for his life, and needs all the prayers he can get, as do the doctors for wisdom and clarity of diagnosis and treatment. But let’s pray also for those who can’t even dream of being able to afford this sort of treatment, let alone demand it as a right. For them the dream is just to be able to live, from one day to the next - what sort of a dream is that?
